Melee Attack Breakdown
The creation of the Melee attack series was an enjoyable experience for me as a VFX artist. In this post, I want to share with you the breakdown of the process I went through to bring this effect to life.
To start, I utilized Houdini to create the 3D meshes. I began by covering the character with a mesh to achieve a subtle glow effect.
If you're interested in the detailed process of creating this mesh, you can find it here.
Moving forward, I turned to Substance Designer to create the textures. These textures were applied to the hand 3D mesh from Houdini to enhance the glow effect and to create a trail that emanates from the fist.
If you want to learn more about the texturing process, you can watch the tutorial here.
Lastly, I present to you the final videos showcasing the completed effect.
