Ground Crack Breakdown



Here is a video of completed effect. In this 3-part series available for members, we explore Houdini for mesh creation, Substance Designer for texturing, and bring everything together in Unreal Engine and Unity.

The focal point of this effect lies in the ground elements. We utilized Houdini to generate the animation through RBD sim and exported it to the game engine with the assistance of SideFX Labs tools.

In addition, we require additional sprite elements to create visual effects that will be placed on top of the ground break. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to create textures using Substance Designer. You can follow the link to access the texture tutorial and create them yourself.
